Description
Parco Sempione is Milan's main urban park. It spreads over close to 40ha, adjacent to the Sforza Castle and to the Arch of Peace. It was designed at the end of the 19th century by Emilio Alemagna and includes monument such as the Palazzo dell'Arte (that houses the Triennale di Milano) and the Civic Aquarium as well as several sculptures.
Access & Transport
The Park extends northwest of the Sforza, directly north of the Milano Cardona train station. Tram lines 1 and 10 go around the southwestern edge of the park until the Arch of Peace whilst lines 1, 4, 12 and 14 go along its eastern edge.
Instructions & Recommendations
We recommend combining a visit of the park with the Castello Sforzesco and Triennale di Milano museum.
Environmental & Social
A very green attraction. Positive for the community as green spaces make for a better living environment
Conclusion
The park makes for a very enjoyable and relaxing break from the rest of Milan's cultural and urban attractions. It has several attention-worthy features and is the perfect place to rest after a visit to one of the Triennale museums or the Sforza Castle.
