Triennale di Milano - by Rod Piz on Google
Description
The Triennale di Milano is a design and art museum in the Parco Sempione in Milan. It is housed in the Palazzo dell’Arte built in 1933 as the headquarters of the International Exhibition of Decorative Arts. The Milan Triennial, an international exhibition of art and design, has been held there at regular intervals since. The museum hosts temporary artist exhibitions and art installations.
Access & Transport
The museum is in the western part of Sempione Park. Bus 61 stops next to it and the following tram stations are all within 5 mins' walk: 'Via Pagano Via Canova' (1, 10), 'Via Venti Settembre' (1, 19), 'P.za Virgilio' (1, 19) and Milano Cardona (Trains and metro 1).
Instructions & Recommendations
We recommend combining this activity with a visit of Sempione Park and Sforza Castle. Santa Maria delle Grazie with Da Vinci's Last Super painting is also only 10mins' walk away.
Environmental & Social
Some use of electricity (for lighting, a/c, heating). Socially slightly positive as it helps spread culture and the arts
Conclusion
Not a priority for those with only a few days in Milan, except for modern & contemporary art fans that is. If you have been around most other cultural activities then by all means this museum is worth discovering - just keep your expectations in check.
