Old Fisherman's Wharf, Monterey - by Xi Wang on Google

Description
Old Fisherman's Wharf is a historic wharf turned tourist attraction in Monterey, California. It was built in 1870 for commercial fishing and cargo but was reconverted over time so it is now lined with seafood restaurants and shops. Trivia: the Custom House was the first government building in California (built in 1827).
Access & Transport
The wharf is in the city centre, 300m west of the Municipal Wharf with an adjacent parking lot. The Trolley line stops next to it and bus 1 and 75 nearby on Pacific St.
Instructions & Recommendations
We suggest combining this attraction with a visit of Cannery Row and the Monterey Bay Aquarium.
Environmental & Social
Some economic benefits to the local community but commercialization also has its drawbacks. Limited carbon footprint
Conclusion
The wharf is a must see in Monterey due to its historical role and atmosphere, but it doesn't warrant more than a short stop. Good place for a meal for seafood lovers as well.
