Allianz Arena Tour + FC Bayern Museum

25 Werner-Heisenberg-Allee, München, Bayern

Description

FC Bayern is the most successful football club in Germany and ranks amongst the European giants of the sport. The Club offers various tours of its premises which include the Stadium and the Museum. This review is for the standard combined tour that includes a 60mins guided tour of the 70,000-seating capacity Allianz Arena Camp and a visit of the FC Bayern Museum. The tour itinerary normally includes the main stand lower and middle tier, the home dressing room and mixed zone, the players' tunnel and the press conference area.

Access & Transport

The Allianz Arena is located at Werner Heisenberg Allee 25. The stadium is a 15mins walk / 1.2km north of Fröttmaning station (U6) For those going by car, it is directly southwest of the A9 / A99 interchange so, from the A9, take the 73 exit to München Fröttmaning Süd and, if you use the A99 motorway, take the 12b exit to München Fröttmaning Nord. The coach park north (Busparkplatz Nord) can be used for visitor parking

Instructions & Recommendations

Make sure you check the matchday schedule as the standard tours do not occur on those dates.

Meta review

Mostly positive comments from visitors who enjoyed seeing first-hand rooms only used by players, the magnificent stadium and the well laid out museum full of trophies. The only negatives we noted relate to the overpriced shop and restaurant.

Environmental & Social

70% of the stadium electricity is from renewable sources (2019 figures), the arena has solar panels and re-usable plastic cups have been introduced. Plenty of room for improvements still since during the 2018-19 season 60mn litres of water were used. Building a stadium also entails massive construction work and use of materials. However, the tour itself is relatively neutral in terms of environmental impact.

Conclusion

The FC Bayern Munich Museum and Allianz Arena tour is one of the most interesting non-cultural activities in the city. The club's pedigree is such that it is one of the best football club tours to be done.

Key positive

The field and stadium are quite spectacular

Interesting club history and plenty of trophies in the Museum

Key negative

Not much else to see in the area

Suitability

Suitable for all ages but best for football fans. There are accessible routes for wheelchair users
