Description
La Manga is a spit (sandbar) separating the Mediterranean Sea from the Mar Menor Lagoon in Murcia, Spain. It is 21km long and, on average, only 100m wide, from Cabo de Palos to the Punta del Mojón. Natural channels called 'golas' allow water from the Mediterranean into the lagoon. Since the 1960's it has developed as a tourist destination with hotels and residences; it is also popular for nautical sports such as windsurfing, kite surfing, and sailing.

Conclusion
This is a place to stay for families looking for some beach time and who don't mind the concrete development as a trade-off to having all services and protected swimming areas. Nothing to see anymore for nature lovers, a few decades too late.
