Ochagavía - by Ramon Jose S.E. on Google

Description
Ochagavía is a village in northeastern Navarra, not far from the border with France and the Irati Forest (one of the best-preserved beech and fir reserves in Europe). Highlights include the typical stone house bordering the Anduña river and the medieval bridge that spans it, the church of San Juan Evangelista and the Hermitage of Nuestra Señora de Muskilda with its conical roof.
Access & Transport
The village is 85km to the northeast of Pamplona, 1h15 drive or 1h45 by bus. The border with France at the mountain pass of Larrau is just 19km away.
Instructions & Recommendations
This activity is best combined with a walk in the Irati Forest, a visit of the village of Roncesvalles, or with Foz de Arbayún (35km to the south)
Environmental & Social
The only carbon footprint is that of your car if you drive there. Any amount spent there (F&B, accommodation) helps the local rural economy.
Conclusion
Ochagavía is a charming village in the foothills of the Spanish Pyrenees that will very much satisfy regional road trippers. Also a good area for cycling.
