Description
The New York Botanical Garden (NYBG) was established in 1891 and comprises about 50 gardens and plant collections plus two main structures: a greenhouse (the Enid A. Haupt Conservatory, modelled after the Palm House at Kew) and the country's largest botanical research library (the LuEsther T. Mertz Library). Highlights include the 'Ladies Border', the Rose Garden, the Rock Garden and the Orchid Collection.
Access & Transport
The gardens are in the northern part of Bronx Park. The Botanical Garden and Fordham train stations are walking distance with Pelham Pkwy (2, 5) and Allerton Ave (2, 5) also an option, entering from the East Gate.
