Conclusion
Looking small among the skyscrapers, despite its 100m spires, St Patrick Cathedral has stunning lines and a very elaborate interior decoration, enhanced by its elegant marble which somehow makes it look quite new (renovations do play a part). It doesn't sport the patina of centuries its European counterparts have and hasn't broken new architectural grounds when it was built but it is a pleasure to visit nonetheless
Key positive
Striking archway and spires
Gorgeous stained glass windows
Key negative
Audio-tour is ridiculously priced
