Description
Times Square is an entertainment hub, in the heart of Midtown Manhattan and the Broadway Theater District; it forms the intersection of Broadway, Seventh Avenue and 42nd St. It is known for its giant advertising screens, neon lights, huge pedestrian traffic and its New Year Eve celebrations.
Access & Transport
The square has its own subway station (S, 7, N, Q, R, W) and is supplemented by '42 St-Bryant Park' (B, D, F, M) and '42 St - Port Authority Bus Terminal' (A, C, E), both one block away.
Instructions & Recommendations
If you must go through the square only once, make it at night to get those bright neon lights and screen pictures.
Environmental & Social
Urban and commercial environment with intense electricity consumption + heavy focus on commercial activities driven by big brands, chains and advertising.
