Description
Wall Street is technically an eight-block long street but is a byword for part of New York's financial district and the US Stock Exchange. The origin of the name is debated and could either come from an old rempart or from "wallon" when NYC was still New Amsterdam and controlled by the Dutch. The most recognizable monuments are the New York Stock Exchange Building designed in Classical Revival and the Federal Hall built with a Greek Revival design. The famous Charging Bull statue is located next to Bowling Green station, at the edge of The Battery park.
Access & Transport
The Wall Street Station (4, 5), Broad St (J) and Wall Street / William Street (2, 3) stations are all situated along Wall Street itself. Rector St (1) and Bowling Green (4, 5) are also nearby options.

Environmental & Social
Concrete urban environment. Preserves the city's architectural heritage.
Conclusion
In our opinion, Wall Street is a compact area that any amateur of beautiful buildings should see - the harmony and grandeur of the lines of the Stock Exchange building can be uncoupled from the excesses of capitalism the neighbourhood is associated with.
