Jardin Albert Ier - by Vega Lira on Google
Description
The Jardin Albert-Ier is a mid-size public garden located in the centre of Nice, next to the old town and the seaside Promenade des Anglais. It contains several statues and works of art, the most notable of which are the Arc de Venet and the Fountain of the Three Graces. The garden was created in 1852 (and later extended) and initially called Jardin de Paradis before its name changed a few times before settling on Albert Ier in 1914, in honour of the then King of Belgium.
Access & Transport
The garden is between Place Massena and the Promenade des Anglais, at the western edge of the Vieux Nice. The "Albert 1er / Phocéens" and "Albert 1er / Verdun" bus stops (12, 23, 32) are located next to it and the "Opéra - Vieille Ville" tram stop (L1) is less than 200m away.
Instructions & Recommendations
We suggest combining this activity with a visit of the Vieux Nice (old town), the Nice Cathedral, and the Promenade des Anglais.
