Ampudia Castle - by Eduardo Acebes on Google

Description
The Castle of Ampudia was built in the 15th century in a trapezoidal shape with towers at the angles, a moat, and a drawbridge. It was abandoned at the turn of the 17th century and partially renovated in the 2nd half of the 20th century. Currently, the castle houses a private museum of artworks and antiques from the Duero basin.
Access & Transport
The monument is at the south-western edge of the village of Ampudia, in the southern part of the Palencia province. Ampudia is 25km southwest of Palencia (P-901) and 35km north of Valladolid (VA-VP-4000).
Instructions & Recommendations
Take note of the short opening hours before heading there.
Environmental & Social
Environmentally neutral and part of the region's architectural heritage. Tourism also brings revenues to the village
Conclusion
Ampudia Castle is a worthy stop on the way to / from Valladolid but doesn't warrant a dedicated drive, except for fans of medieval fortresses. The museum inside is mildly interesting and lacks proper curation.
Key positive
Restoration is quite good
Key negative
Short opening hours
Not many other attractions in the area
Suitability
The castle seems to be accessible for visitors with reduced mobility but we are not completely sure
