Ferrari Land - by Management
Description
Ferrari Land is an amusement park that is part of the PortAventura World complex alongside PortAventura Park and PortAventura Caribe Aquatic Park. The park has 17 rides and various shows (BMX, acrobatics, folklore) in an Italian / Mediterranean atmosphere. The most famous ride is by far the Red Force, a steel launched roller coaster with a height of 112m and max speed of 180km/h (reached in 5 seconds with >4g acceleration) that is still the fastest in Europe.
Access & Transport
The complex is just north of the seaside resort town of Salou, 12km to the southwest of Tarragona. By car, it is easily accessible by taking exit 1153 on the A-7 expressway. From Barcelona, it is a 1h30 car drive or train ride to Salou-PortAventura train station. More options / details available here: https://www.portaventuraworld.com/en/destination/planning/how-to-get-to-portaventura
Instructions & Recommendations
Please note the age and weight requirements for many of the rides (applicable for safety reasons). For those into theme and amusement parks, it may be worth checking the various multi-day multi-park combo tickets. If you have a car and drive from outside Tarragona do note that the city has extremely interesting Roman ruins (in the centre and an Aqueduct on its northern outskirt called Les Ferreres or Pont del Diable)
Environmental & Social
The operator has a generic environmental policy, but we could not find many details about specific projects and data. Our view is that theme parks are highly wasteful (energy, plastic, food). Likewise in terms of Corporate Responsibility although they do have a foundation that aims to raise awareness against social exclusion. Details here: https://www.portaventuraworld.com/en/foundation
Conclusion
Ferrari Land looks interesting in theory, but it is let down by the long waiting time due to the massive asymmetry in interest between its queen ride and the others. If your budget allows for it and you have no conceptual issues around buying an express pass, then it might be worth half a day of your time.

Key negative
Long waiting time for the main rides
Not much of real interest besides the 2-3 main rides
