Meta review

Reviews written by visitors having benefitted of docent-led tours are quite good though this does not seem to be one of the most interesting state capitol museums in the country (in comparison, the self-guided tours from the Covid-pandemic period received underwhelming feedback). There seem to be some ongoing renovations that take away from the beautiful building. The grounds are described as 'beautiful' and 'lovely' but apparently may not be the best place to hang out in the evening.

Environmental & Social

Min. environmental impact from the "museum" itself and helps preserve the state's history

Conclusion

The California State Capitol is a 'nice to see' monument when visiting Sacramento but for international travellers it may feel a little underwhelming in comparison to the other museums and sights that California has to offer!
