The Maritime Museum of San Diego preserves a large collection of historic sea vessels with some exhibits on the lower decks. The current collection includes, inter alia 1) a 1863 iron-hulled merchant bark called the Star of India; 2) the Berkeley, a 1898 ferryboat; 3) HMS Surprise, a 1970 replica of a Royal Navy frigate that was used as a movie set in several well-known productions; and 4) USS Dolphin, a diesel-electric submarine launched in 1968. Address: Star of India Wharf, 492 North Harbor Drive Several buses stop at 'N Harbor Dr & Ash St' in front of the museum or along Pacific Hwy (just across the Waterfront Park) and the 'County Center/Little Italy Station' light rail station (blue, green) and 'Santa Fe Depot' (Coaster) are both 5mins's walk away.

Conclusion
An underrated attraction that is fairly priced, an oddity in this city! We can only recommend a visit to the Maritime Museum of San Diego and those keen on all things marine and ships should earmark more than 2h.
