Old Town San Diego - by unknown on Google
Description
Old Town San Diego State Historic Park commemorates the early days of the city with several historic buildings from 1820 to 1870 when it was Mexican and then part of the USA (1850). Following the development of Downtown San Diego in the 1860's, shipping became much easier (as opposed to bringing goods from Point Loma) so that commercial activities and administrative offices quickly moved there. The State Historic Park has many colonial buildings such as a courthouse, school, stables and a hotel, some of which hold small museums and restaurants.
Access & Transport
The park is located on San Diego Avenue and Twiggs Street in San Diego. This is immediately southeast of the intersection if I-5 and I-8. There is a major public transport station ('Old Town Station' and 'Old Town Transit Center') with several lines stopping there: Blue, Green, Coaster, Pacific Surfliner and bus #9. Environmental & Social
Too commercial but no harm done. Some minor educational aspect and helps preserve the city's historical and architectural heritage. We deem this activity environmentally neutral
Conclusion
Nothing exceptional but it would be a shame not to visit given the historical significance and the fact that it is close to both downtown (short trip by light rail) and other attractions in the Point Loma Mission area.
