Description
Golden Gate Park is a 412 ha urban park located in San Francisco. It is rectangular in shape, about 800m wide and nearly 5km long, abutting on the ocean side at its western end. Inside, there are several lakes, running / walking trails, several gardens, the San Francisco Botanical Garden, a Japanese Tea Garden as well as other attractions such as a windmill, statues, the de Young Museum and the California Academy of Sciences.
Access & Transport
The park is on the western side of the city, between the Richmond and Sunset Districts. The closest light rail stop is '9th Ave & Irving St' on the N Judah line. Inside the park, there is a free shuttle during the day until 18h. Instructions & Recommendations
We suggest combining an exploration of the park with a visit to the California Academy of Sciences or the de Young museum. This is a also a fantastic place for a run (road and trail)
