Description
Haneul Park is one of Seoul's most popular inner-city parks. It was created in 2002 out of what was previously a landfill to commemorate the 17th FIFA World Cup. There are good views over Seoul at the top of the 291-steps wooden stairway and the park is extremely popular in autumn for the Silver Grass Festival when large swathes are covered with tall pampas grass.
Access & Transport
The park is located in World Cup Park, in the west of Seoul, on the northern bank of the Han River. The World Cup Stadium station (6) is a few minutes' walk from it
Instructions & Recommendations
The Pampas Grass Festival takes place in October
Environmental & Social
Developed on top of a landfill - thumbs up for the ecological and sustainable aspects + improves the living environment of residents
Conclusion
One of the best options in Seoul for some easily accessible outdoor time combined with city views. It does get busy in autumn but if you are a keen photographer, you should very much enjoy it.
