Meta review

The attraction gets little advertisement and online reviews are quite mixed; those with no previous snow experience generally seem to enjoy their time there, kids especially, but the novelty wears off quickly as the slope is limited and the artificial snow can't be compacted into snowballs or any type of structure. Comments about the rental equipment, the bumper ride and the extortionate price of photographs are consistently negative.

Environmental & Social

Significant energy expenditure to keep the temperature so low and create 10-15t of snow every day. We have not seen any sustainability policy. Socially neutral

Conclusion

Singapore's Snow City mainly caters to residents who have no or little snow experience - the concept might be interesting but unfortunately the slope and snow depth are too limited and the centre suffers from under-investment, making for a disappointing experience - and not an eco-friendly one to top it all.

Key positive

Opportunity to see and slide on the snow for those who never have before

Key negative

Bad environmental credentials

Lack of rental clothes sizes and inferior quality

Suitability

Suitable for kids aged >2yrs (min. size required in places) - best for families For practical and safety reasons the slope is not accessible for visitors with reduced mobility
