Description
The construction of the Cathedral of Burgo de Osma started in the mid-13th century in Gothic style but was only completed 500 years later; the cloister dates from the early 16th century and the bell tower from 1739. The main highlights are the cloister, the Main Chapel with its gilded altarpiece, the tomb of San Pedro de Osma, the Beato Codex (written in 1086) containing 72 miniatures, and the dominating Bell Tower.
Access & Transport
The cathedral is located in the western part of the Soria Province, 55km southwest of Soria along the N-122/A-11 and 125km southeast of Burgos. There is parking space outside of the medieval defensive walls.
Instructions & Recommendations
