Description
The Numantine Museum of Soria displays archaeological artefacts and artworks from the province of Soria. It is named after the Celtiberian settlement of Numantia, about 6km away. It covers various time periods starting from the Palaeolithic and running through the Bronze Age, the Iron Age, the Celtiberian, Roman, Muslim periods, and the Middle Ages. Artefacts include (inter alia) utensils, weapons, pottery, tools, sculptures, and tombstones.
Access & Transport
The museum is situated in the centre of town, across the main road (N-234) from the Plaza de Toros and adjacent to the Paseo el Espolon (promenade). There is street parking near the entrance.
Instructions & Recommendations
We suggest combining this activity with the Monasterio de San Juan de Duero, less than 2km away to the east of town.
Environmental & Social
Low carbon footprint. Educational and preserves the regional cultural heritage
