Nobel Prize Museum - by Management

Description
The Nobel Prize Museum displays information about the famous award, Alfred Nobel (the prize founder), and the personal life stories of the laureates. It is housed in the former Stock Exchange Building, on the northern side of Stortorget in Stockholm's Gamla Stan. As a reminder, the Nobel Prize is awarded since 1901 (based on the founder's will) in the fields of Physics, Chemistry, Physiology or Medicine, Literature, and Peace.
Access & Transport
The museum is located between Stockholm Cathedral (Storkyrkan) and the popular square called Stortorget in the middle of Gamla Stan. The Slottsbacken and Riddarhustorget bus stops are both 400m away and it is a 15mins walk to the main train station. The accessible entrance is at the back of the museum from Storkyrkan’s yard / Slottsbacken. Accessibility info: https://nobelprizemuseum.se/en/visit-the-museum/tillganglighet/
Instructions & Recommendations
We suggest combining this activity with a visit of the cathedral and an exploration of the neighbourhood.
Environmental & Social
No environmental data available about the museum that is housed in a repurposed building. Some electricity consumption but not a large carbon footprint on a per capita basis. Cultural aspects
Conclusion
It had to exist in Stockholm but dealing with a long list of laureates or the narrow topic of a man & a prize was always going to be somewhat challenging or restrictive. A good but secondary museum, in our opinion
Key positive
Opportunity to learn more about a prize that we always hear about
Centrally located near attractions and restaurants
Key negative
Quite small and difficult to sustain attention span
Suitability
Accessible and suitable for all ages although children <14yr old may not find it interesting
