Östermalms Food Hall - by Dor Grig on Google

Description
Östermalms Saluhall is a historical food hall opened in Stockholm in 1888; there are 18 traders selling food produces such as cheese, fruits & vegetables, meat & cold cuts, fish, and baked good as well as several adjacent restaurants. The building borrows some typical Northern German brick architectural features and cast iron structures more typical of France, Spain or Italy.
Access & Transport
The building is located at Östermalmstorg, in the centre of the city, a 2mins walk from the namesake metro station (red 13 & 14) and Nybroviken. Bus 54 also stops at Östermalmstorg and the bus stop for line 69 and 76 is just two blocks away at Nybroplan. The nearest car park is located at Grev Turegatan 3-5.
Instructions & Recommendations
Nearby attractions include the Nationalmuseum (Fine Arts Museum), the Swedish History Museum, and cruises for the Stockholm Archipelago leave from Nybroviken.
Environmental & Social
No environmental data available other than the fact that the renovated building was meant to be certified in accordance with BREEAM; not sure whether this is the case. We deem this attraction neutral socially as we have no information relating to the origin of products and the rent system.
Conclusion
Shopping for food or having lunch at Östermalms Food Hall is certainly enjoyable but not exactly great value so our recommendation is for those with a limited budget or generally who find the stalls & restaurant overpriced to still come and have a look but not spend there.
