Swedish History Museum - by Mehrdad Rezaei on Google

Description
The Swedish History Museum (Historiska museet) in Stockholm displays collections spanning archaeology and Swedish cultural history since the Stone Age up to the present. These include, inter alia, a large section on Vikings (800-1050), religious art from the 12th century to the post-Reformation period, textile works from the Middle Ages, and the Gold Room housed in a concrete vault and containing jewellery, coins, and reliquaries.
Access & Transport
The museum is located at Narvavägen, just south of Östermalm and 300m from Karlaplan metro station (red 13). Bus 67 stops next to the entrance at 'Historiska museet' and buses 69 / 76 and tram 7 stop Djurgårdsbron is a 5mins walk away.
Instructions & Recommendations
We suggest combining a visit there with one of the attractions on Djurgården such as the Vasa Museum and/or an exploration of Östermalms, including its Food Hall (Östermalms Saluhall).
Environmental & Social
Minor carbon footprint (electricity usage mostly). Educational attraction and preserves some of the country's historical artefacts.
Conclusion
A very solid national history museum that should be of interest to the curious minded (and of course the history buffs), be it national or international visitors. Reasonable pricing and near the city centre so no reason not to go for those with 3 days or more in Stockholm.
