Description
Vasa Museum displays one of the best-preserved 17th-century ship ever salvaged: the 64-gun warship Vasa that sank on her maiden voyage in 1628. The maritime museum is located in Stockholm and housed in a building with stylized masts that represent the actual height of Vasa when she was fully rigged. There is background information on the history of Sweden in the 17th century, thousands of objects found in and around the ship, and other exhibits portraying various aspects of the Vasa, from its construction to its recovery.
Access & Transport
The museum is in the northwest of Djurgården, an island with many of Stockholm key attractions located about 2km east of the city centre but easily accessible by road (Djurgårdsbron) or ferry (#82 from Slussen / #80 from Nybroplan to Allmänna gränd). The bus and tram stop 'Nordiska museet/Vasamuseet' (#7) is a short distance away. For those driving, there is a small car park near the museum, but it is often full Directions: https://www.vasamuseet.se/en/visit/getting-here
Instructions & Recommendations
Other nearby attractions include the Nodirska museet (Nordic Museum), the Viking Museum, ABBA The Museum, and Skansen (open-air museum).
Environmental & Social
Cultural aspects and the operations follow sustainable practices (LED lighting, electricity from renewable energy sources, restaurant serving locally sourced organic food) but no data is available. Link: https://www.vasamuseet.se/en/about-the-vasa-museum/environmental-work

It's all about one ship, but what a ship and curation. The museum might be a little over-hyped but its success is well-deserved and this definitely ranks among the best things to see in Stockholm.
