Meta review

Mostly positive comments for this monument & museum; online reviews dwell on diverse aspects such as the changing of the guards (at the top of the hour, quite similar to that of Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial), the architecture of the huge hall, the interesting exhibits covering the island's history since the Han immigration, and even the good views of Taipei 101 from there. No real recurring negative comments but not everybody would consider this a highlight of the city.

Environmental & Social

We deem this activity environmentally neutral. Part of the city's architectural heritage + some educational aspects and community infrastructure

Conclusion

A nice and free cultural activity that is quite centrally located and isn't really time consuming. Recommended as an add-on, possibly on the way to Taipei 101.
