Marché Victor Hugo - by Elisabeth R on Google

Description
The Marché Victor Hugo of Toulouse is an indoor food market with over 80 stalls offering regional fresh produce and specialties such as fish, meat, fruits & vegetables, baked good and patisseries, dairy, chocolate, and delicatessen. There are also some wine shops, bars and even some restaurants on the upper floor. Created in 1896, the market was initially housed in a metallic building but was replaced by a concrete one in 1959.
Access & Transport
The market is located just off the Bd de Strasbourg, in the city centre. It is in the middle of a triangle formed by three metro stations: Jean Jaures (A, B), Jeanne d'Arc (B) and Capitole (A) - each less than a 5 mins walk away.
Instructions & Recommendations
Note the early closure (14h). Nearby attractions include the Place du Capitole and the Basilique Saint-Sernin along with the neighbouring archaeology museum Saint Raymond.
Environmental & Social
No environmental / sourcing data The small producers' aspect is a positive from a social perspective. A little over-touristy, and getting increasingly so
Conclusion
The Victor Hugo Market Hall is worth a visit for its range of local specialties and fresh produce, or even for a meal but it is not 'top-tier' by international standards in terms of experience, in part let down by the charmless building in which it is housed.
