Church of San Nicolás, Valencia - by Lola Armengol on Google
Description
The Church of San Nicolás in Valencia (San Nicolás de Bari and San Pedro Mártir) is a 15th century Roman Catholic church locally nicknamed the "Valencian Sistine Chapel". It blends a Gothic structure with a spectacular 17th century Baroque decoration, in particular frescoes depicting the lives of San Nicola and Peter of Verona, along with virtues and allegories, designed by Antonio Palomino and completed by Dionis Vidal. It is also notable for its gilded altarpieces, stucco, reliefs and several paintings.
Access & Transport
Access is from No 35 calle Caballeros. The closest bus stops are Plaza de la Reina (C1) and Torres de Serranos (6-11-16-26-28-80-94-95-N10). The 'Pont de Fusta' (4) metro station is a 10 mins walk to the north
