Description
The Mercado Central is Valencia's largest public market (8,000m2). It was designed and built in Valencian Art Nouveau style in 1914-28. Its main distinctive features are its domes and the colourful interplay of iron, polychromed tiles, wood and ceramics. There are stalls selling fresh produces (vegetables, meat, fish, etc.) as well as few restaurants and souvenir shops.

The closest metro station is 'Àngel Guimerà' (0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 9), 600m away.

It is bright, colourful and centrally located. Not the most cost efficient but still a great experience so worth visiting even for those not intending to buy food.
