Meta review

The Oceanarium is widely considered one of the highlights of the city and regularly features in travel magazines promoting the city. Online reviews are mostly excellent, highlighting the impressive architecture, the quality and diversity of the aquatic life on display and the educational content across seas, oceans and freshwater habitats. Inconsistent comments about the dolphin shows and some positive ones about the layout and cleanliness.

Environmental & Social

Not much info regarding the building sustainability features. The water is pumped directly from the sea. The operator is engaged into conservation (Mediterranean turtles), education and research projects. Info here: https://www.oceanografic.org/en/fundacion/

Conclusion

L'Oceanogràfic is a top-tier attraction to see and learn more about marine life. It makes for an excellent family activity and is conveniently located near other tourist highlights. The only drawbacks are the usual ethical issues of captivity and having cold-water climates species in very hot locations (penguins in Valencia!)
