Paella Cooking class with My First Paella

6 Carrer del Pare Perera, València, Comunidad Valenciana

Description

My First Paella offers several cooking classes with Valencia paella the most popular of them with options for 'classic' (meat based), seafood and vegan. The class lasts 3h30 starting late morning and includes a visit of the Ruzafa market. Customers will prepare an authentic Valencian Paella and be treated to drinks / refreshments and tapas before and around lunch time.

Access & Transport

The meeting point is on the stairs of the Church of San Valero at No 6 Calle del Pare Perera, near the Russafa market. Buses 6, 14, 15, 35 stop nearby at 'Russafa - Sant Valero' and the following stations are only 5mins away: Valencia Nord (C1, C2, C3, C5, C6), Alacant (tram 10) and Bailén (subways 0, 7)

Instructions & Recommendations

Late afternoon classes (cooking for dinner) are sometimes available as well but those do not include a market visit.

Meta review

No trace of recurring negative comments. Customers overwhelmingly rate the experience as fun and engaging, often one of the best activities they have done in the city. They highlight the interaction, social aspect, good food and the friendly & knowledgeable staff/chefs. Also a mention that the class seems to work well for children, they are 'allowed to help make the paella in a safe way'.

Environmental & Social

Environmentally neutral From a social perspective, we deem this activity to be positive as it provides a livelihood to independent operators

Conclusion

This Paella cooking class is the perfect opportunity to take a break from visiting churches and museums and try your hand at Spanish cooking whilst interacting with the chefs and a handful of other customers (group size is kept small). In our opinion, this is one of the better ways to discover the local food and culture.
