Giardini della Biennale - by Wolfgang on Google
Description
The Giardini della Biennale is a parkland near the eastern end of the Castello district which is one of the main venues of the Venice Biennale Art Festival. The gardens contain 30 permanent national pavilions that exhibit artworks by its national artists during the event. Together with the Parco delle Rimembrance, the Gardens are freely accessible by the public, but an entrance ticket is necessary to visit the pavilions.
Access & Transport
Vaporetto stop "Giardini Biennale" (1, 4, 5, 6, 8, 10, N) is next to the park. It is a 20mins (1.6km) walk to Piazza San Marco
Instructions & Recommendations
We suggest walking one way, stopping to see the Venetian Arsenal and taking the vaporetto on the way back or head to Lido Island from there on line 1, 5, 6, 8, 10 or N.
Environmental & Social
Green activity. Positive for the community as green spaces make for a better living environment
Conclusion
The Giardini della Biennale isn't really a sight per se but more a retreat from the crowds of the city centre, with a dash of culture in the form of the various pavilions and sculptures.
Key positive
One of Venice's rare green spaces
Key negative
A little out of the way but with a vaporetto stop
