East Potomac Park - by Adnan Rana on Google
Description
East Potomac Park is located on an island in the Potomac River in Washington DC. It covers 160ha and includes various trails/paths and sport infrastructure (miniature golf course, tennis courts and pitches). It is a popular spot for cyclists, walkers, inline skaters and runners.
Access & Transport
The park is immediately to the southeast of the Jefferson Memorial, about 2km south of the Washington National Monument. The NMS bus stops at the memorial, otherwise the closest metro station is Smithsonian (Blue, Orange, Silver line), a 30mins walk away.
Instructions & Recommendations
We recommend this place for visitors looking for a place to walk or run. It is best combined with the Jefferson Memorial.
Environmental & Social
Green activity. Positive for the community as green spaces make for a better living environment
Conclusion
The East Potomac Park makes for a nice walk (or run) for those already south of the National Mall. However, outside of the cherry blossom season, it may not warrant a special trip as there is no impressive or memorable feature.
