Small Wild Goose Pagoda - by Tim Lee on Google

Description
The Small Wild Goose Pagoda (小雁塔 or Xiǎoyàn Tǎ) is a 15-storey, 43m-high pagoda with a square shape built in the early 8th century. It is located within the Jianfu Temple where Buddhist sutras were stored and named in relation to the larger (and better-known) Giant Wild Goose Pagoda, not very far from it.
Access & Transport
The temple is located in the south of Xi'an, about 1.7km southwest of the South Gate of the City Wall (Yongningmen). The closest metro station is Nanshaomen (2, 5), a 5 mins walk away.
Instructions & Recommendations
Entrance to the temple complex is free except during the first 15 days of the first lunar month. We suggest combining a visit there with that of the neighbouring Xi'an Museum.
Environmental & Social
Environmentally neutral and part of the city's architectural and cultural heritages
Conclusion
If by now you have seen many Buddhist Pagodas, this one is not going to strike you as unique. It does make for some good pictures but we would only recommend a detour if you have plans to visit the adjacent Xi'an Museum.
Key positive
