Caesaraugusta Forum Museum - by Eva Simon on Google
Description
The Caesaraugusta Forum Museum displays the remains of the forum of the ancient Roman city of Caesaraugusta. Old foundations, parts of the walls and sewers have been excavated. Utensils used in daily life and other decorative artefacts are also displayed.
Access & Transport
The museum is in the historical district of Zaragoza, next to La Seo cathedral and 300m from the 'Plaza España' tram station. The museum is in fact under the basement of the Plaza de la Seo with the entrance at ground level through a prism of Iranian onyx plates.
Instructions & Recommendations
There is a combined ticket for the Caesaraugusta related museums grouping the theatre, Forum, Fluvial Port and Thermal Baths: https://www.zaragoza.es/contenidos/museos/museos_ccesp.pdf
Environmental & Social
Low environmental impact. Educational and helps preserve the architectural and historical heritages of the city
Conclusion
Comparatively larger than its Theatre Museum sibling, the Forum Museum is possibly less impressive visually - because of that we think it is to be recommended mostly to those keen on archaeological sites although visitors with broader cultural interest will still find it worth 1h of their time.
