Museo Pablo Gargallo - by Paulo Soares on Google
Description
The Pablo Gargallo Museum showcases sculptures, drawings, prints and cardboard works from the namesake Aragonese sculptor (1881-1934). It is housed in the 17th century Palace of Argillo (the Counts of Argillo bought the property in the 19th century) with an open central courtyard.
Access & Transport
The palace is located at #3 Plaza de San Felipe, on the western side of the historical center of Zaragoza, a 3mins walk from the César Augusto tram stop.
Instructions & Recommendations
If you go in the evening hours, we suggest combining this activity with dinner and drinks in a tapas bar in El Tubo neighbourhood.
Environmental & Social
Low environmental impact (electricity) with repurposing of a building. Helps preserve the city's architectural heritage and spread the arts.
Conclusion
The Pablo Gargallo Museum might be focused on the output of an artist with little international fame but the diversity and quality of the art and themes, enhanced by the charming architecture of the palace makes it a worthy and very affordable visit for art lovers.
